Finding a Job

Under usual visa conditions, international students on a student visa (subclass 500) are eligible to work part-time up to 40 hours per fortnight. This has changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic so that now those on a student visa can work an unlimited amount while studying, to help with workforce shortages. Restrictions on hours will be re-introduced on the 30th June 2023, so be sure to regularly check the Home Affairs website to keep up-to-date with visa conditions.

Even though working hours are currently unrestricted, we recommend only working part-time or casually alongside your studies, to ensure you have enough time to attend classes and complete assessments to a satisfactory level.

Opulence College students have the opportunity to work with one of our partnered firms, either as part of their course, or post-study as an entry pathway into their chosen industry. However, most students will want to find casual work to supplement course fees and living in Australia.
